Seeing Your Child in a New Light: Supporting Your Sensitive Child
Do you have a sensitive child who needs support?
Sensitive children tend to be ones who are wise beyond their years, “hearing” and “seeing” everything, even if they are in the next room. They may be very quiet and shy especially in the classroom or outside the family house. They may show an unusual interest in their toys, acting as if the toy contains real spirits. They may become anxious in group situations at school or very sad and withdrawn.
Other ways to describe a sensitive child:
-Asks lots of questions about other worlds, angels and spirits
-Enjoys nature, animals and crystals
-Has vivid Dreams or “Night Terrors”
-Gullible and trusting
-Feels sad for others (shows empathy)
-Has memories of another place or obsessed with a time period (past life memories)
-Enjoys stories involving the magical realm -e.g. Narnia, Harry Potter, Fairies, Unicorns, Heroes with special abilities, etc.
Your spiritual child chose you to be their parent, calling on you to develop your own spiritual abilities to help them with theirs. All literature for thousands of years includes the “Hero’s Journey,” which involves a special child hidden in common families, unaware of their unique nature until they come of age to discover their true power. Some popular stories today are J.K Rowling’s, Harry Potter, or the story of Superman. Every child (even you when you were a child) sees themselves as the hero or “the chosen one” of their own story, just yearning and waiting to be recognized for their special abilities, often feeling invalidated when this doesn’t happen.
This idea of the hidden hero with common parents is no longer true for many children born on Earth these days. Your child is asking you to be awake and see them in a new light. In order to do this, you are being asked to develop your vision and psychic abilities now. Your child sees and interprets the world, or grounds through you. When you are grounded, calm and clear about the world, you can naturally support and nurture their spirit. They feel validated and seen for their true power at an early age. You are the gardener for your child’s garden — it’s important to pull the weeds and create a beautiful place for their nervous systems to grow into their light that is coming through.
We ultimately have children so that we force ourselves to grow and not go to sleep to our own greatness. When you grow spiritually for yourself, you not only heal your own childhood of invalidation, but you become the best person to support and nurture your child’s spiritual growth.
5 ways to help your sensitive child right away:
1. Help your child appreciate and collect natural objects such as crystals, stones and plants.
2. Show them the book “If” by Sarah Perry to open their imagination and have an “impossible” discussion.
3. Look at the book “Hidden Messages in Water” by Masaru Emoto to see how our words create an impact on water and our own bodies.
4. It’s great to do the following experiment on plants after reading this book. Place the word “I LOVE YOU” on one plant and “I HATE YOU” on another (or have more plants but divide in half). Water all plants equally and provide the same sunlight, but think and read to yourself and say outloud the words on the plants as you take care of them - sending those thoughts to the body of the plant. You will see the plants with the negative thought wither and the ones with the positive thought thrive!
5. Get a clairvoyant reading or hypnotherapy session to gain insights into yourself and your child (and inner child) and raise your own vibration. Please note: It is not necessary to bring your child to the clairvoyant reading or adult level class. They grow inside you like a “koala bear baby” in your mother’s pouch. They experience all that you experience.
